DNIPRO CHOIR SINGS AT KYIV CITY COUNCIL CHARITY EVENT

On December 14, 2016 Dnipro Choir performed at Column Hall of Kyiv City Council for participants of the First charity auction devoted to St. Nicholas Day. The event was hosted by Saint Nicholas International Charitable Fund and Women movement of Kyiv territorial organization of Petro Poroshenko Bloc “Solidarity”.

Amongst the attendants of an auction were Members of Parliament, Members of Kyiv City Council and representatives of business community. As auction lots were introduced personal belongings of famous Ukrainians. One could also purchase Christmas crafts and tokens handmade by people with disabilities.

The goal of an auction was financial support for Kyiv M.M. Gorodetskiy City Orphanage. The orphanage houses 120 children aged from 0 to 4 years. Most of the residents are orphans and abandoned children with central nervous system structural lesions (Down syndrome, CSIP (cerebral spastic infantile paralysis).

The goal was successfully achieved, as the funds raised amounted to UAH 129, 000.00. The funds will go towards purchase of a neurotherapy program software Interactive Metronome, which facilitates brain functions development and stimulates brain activity necessary for processing of sensory information,  fights speech/language, attention deficit and behavior disorder. Completing Interactive Metronome therapy will enhance rehabilitation of children suffering from attention deficit, autism spectrum disorders (early childhood autism (RDA), Asperger’s syndrome, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, delayed speech development, rate of speech disorders and rehabilitation of children after traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injuries.

The Dnipro singers were happy to contribute to this charity initiative, and greatly encourage those caring to support and provide for the needy.
